A fun and interactive kissing game on TikTok has been launched by Duolingo “A summer Fling with Duo” to encourage learners to continue their learning process.

For the language learning app Duolingo, all of these interesting things come with a challenge: Distractions cause learners to neglect and delay their lessons. Duo, the app’s mascot, has been transformed into a hot hug pillow, inspired by the popular Buff Duo meme, inviting players to compete and have a chance to win their own life-sized hug pillow. To get a chance to hug the real hug pillow with Duo, players must prove their kissing skills by performing the most synchronized kisses with Buff Duo in the TikTok AR game.

The campaign was created by independent Creative Agency UltraSuperNew Tokyo and then spread through popular influencers who participated in the AR game and proudly showcased their Buff Duo pillows on TikTok.

Duolingo Japan’s Social Media director Bunrei Yamane said: “We wanted to create something fun and easy for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re indoors or out this summer. The Buff Duo filter is a fun reminder that Duo is here for you, wherever you are.“.

From creative agency UltraSuprtNew Tokyo, Creative Director Andres Aguilar added: “Why leave the house to find a partner and hope for romance this summer when you can cuddle up with your pale-skinned boyfriend in the comfort of 23 degrees, air-conditioned comfort of your own room? Maintaining your Duolingo learning streak has never been so appealing.“.

With limited quantities, this will be an interesting and completely worthy collectible for the owner this summer.

The game will be live-streamed on TikTok through September 21. The winners will be the ones who achieve the highest score by sharing their gameplay with the hashtag #summerflingwithDuo. They will be notified via direct message on the social media platform and will receive their own Buff Duo pillow in the mail. With limited quantities, this will be a fun and totally worthy collector’s item for the summer.
